Krema od datulja/urmi // Date jam

Sastojci:
250 g datulja (ociscenih od kospica)
cca 100 ml mlake vode (toliko da pokrije dno manje serpice)

Priprema:
1. U manju serpicu uliti vodu i dodati urme te kuhati do kljucanja. Nakon kljucanja kuhati jos jedno 2-3 minute.
2. Maknuti sa ringle i ostaviti da se malo prohladi.
3. Kada se smjesa ohladi, elektricnom sjeckalicom razmutiti dok se ne dobije gusta, glatka krema.



Savjet:
U ovu kremu ne ide nikakav secer ni med jer su urme dovoljno slatke same za sebe. Kremu mozete staviti u teglicu i koristiti je po potrebi za pravljenje kolaca ili jednostavno na tostu kao pekmez ili jos bolje na palacinkama! Umjesto urmi moze se koristiti bilo koje suseno voce. Gustina kreme se moze prilagoditi prema individualnom ukusu tako sto se za tecniju kremu doda vise vode, a za guscu kremu manje.

Date jam

Ingredients:
250 g pitted dates
100 ml water

Preparation:
1. In a saucepan put water and dates and cook for 5 minuter after the water boils. Leave to cool down.
2. If you're a sweet tooth you can add honey or maple syrup but dates are sweet enough for itself so I didn't add any.
3. In a food processor blend the dates until you get nice smooth jam-type cream.


Note: There is no sugar or honey added to this jam because the dates are sweet enough. Keep it in a jar and if not used often it can last in a fridge for a long period of time. Use it for cake fillings, as a spread over toast or in crepes. You can also adjust how thick it is by adding more or less water to it.  You can make this kind of jam with dry figs or dry plums.
